Explore The City At Your Feet with Portland Trails!

Portland Trails’ annual City at Your Feet scavenger hunt is coming up this Saturday, July 13th!

City at Your Feet is a cross-town scavenger hunt and people-powered trail adventure. Teams compete to crack as many clues as possible and gain points for finding unique locations along the trail network, all while traveling car-free throughout the city. Whether you walk or bike, bus or pogo-stick, City at Your Feet will get you and your friends and family out the door and exploring all the incredible sights that Portland Trails has to offer!

When: Saturday, July 13th, 2019, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where: Starts and ends at Portland Gear Hub, 155 Washington Ave with an After Party!
Price: Tickets are $25/adult (16+) and $12/child (15 and under).

You can participate in teams of 2 to 6 participants.

Take A Hike With Portland Trails!

Every year on the first Saturday of June, people across the country get outside to celebrate National Trails Day. Our friends at Portland Trails celebrate by hosting the Forest City Trail Walk, a 10 mile hike that covers the full spectrum of their trails--along the rivers, in the thick woods, along marshes, on streets and by 2 waterfalls. It starts near the Westbrook/Portland line and goes all the way to the Falmouth line.

With two groups, one taking a more leisurely pace, you can explore and enjoy the views of the trails while learning about the Portland Trails people, work, impact and trails. Pack a lunch and water to stop and eat on the trails.

Where: Starts at Stroudwater Trail, Blueberry Rd., Portland, ME

At Gray Fox Real Estate, we pride ourselves on being a conscious company that works hard to keep, and add, value to our beautiful state of Maine. One way that we do this is by supporting and donating 1% of our annual net profit to not-for-profits that focus on conservation and land trusts in Maine.

One of the organizations we support is the Maine Audubon. They work to “connect people to nature through a science-based approach to conservation, education, and advocacy”. They have a calendar full of events for children, families, and adults to engage with natural beauty that their eight sanctuaries have to hold.

In 2018, we donated to the following organizations:

Maine Audubon Society: Maine Audubon works to conserve Maine’s wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people of all ages in education, conservation, and action.

Royal River Conservation Trust: The Royal River Conservation Trust protects the natural, recreational, scenic, agricultural and historic resources of the Royal River region for current and future generations.

Natural Resource Council of Maine: The Natural Resources Council of Maine is a nonprofit membership organization protecting, restoring, and conserving Maine’s environment, now and for future generations. For almost 60 years, the Natural Resources Council of Maine has been protecting the places and way of life that make Maine so special. 

Portland Trails: Portland Trails transforms Greater Portland into a healthier community for people powered transportation, conservation, and recreation, by creating a network of trails and green spaces that connect people with places.

We are proud to support these organizations and look forward to expanding our charitable efforts in 2019.
